Where Things Stood at the Start

A premium appliance repair company based in Atlanta, Georgia, specializing in high-end appliance repair services. The company services luxury home appliances for homeowners and businesses, and it already had the crews and the reputation for that work. What it did not have was a predictable way to attract high-value customers and keep the schedule full - which is why the owner came to me and my team for a data-driven advertising strategy.
Premium jobs, premium clicks
A $605 average ticket is worth fighting for, so every competitor bids on exactly the same homeowner. The goal was high-quality service inquiries at a high return on ad spend, not cheap clicks.
Traffic that never books
Appliance searches are full of people looking for a YouTube fix, a spare part or a warranty number. Left unfiltered, they burn budget and never book a technician.
One page for every job
A single generic landing page gave a homeowner no clear reason to call. Without sharp calls-to-action and tested headlines, paid clicks arrive and leave.
Atlanta is not one market
Demand, competition and click prices differ between the city and its surrounding suburbs. A flat city-wide budget spends the same on areas that convert and areas that do not.

What We Did

One Google Ads account, one metro, a data-driven strategy built around return on ad spend.
Here is what actually moved the numbers.
Focused the budget on high-intent search queries related to appliance repair services - appliance, brand, problem, city
Implemented and rebuilt negative keyword lists to filter out DIY, spare parts and warranty traffic
Designed highly optimized landing pages with clear calls-to-action for every service
A/B tested headlines, forms and layouts against each other to maximize conversion rates
Concentrated ad spend on Atlanta and the high-demand suburbs around it
Adjusted bidding strategies based on local competition and search trends

The Key Insight

Appliance repair is a search-driven business. Nobody browses for a technician - the built-in refrigerator stops cooling and the homeowner types the brand, the problem and the city into Google within the hour. That makes Google Ads the right channel, and it also makes it a competitive one: every other company in Atlanta is bidding on exactly the same moment.
So the lever was never the bid. It was intent.
We concentrated the budget on high-intent repair queries - appliance, brand, problem, city - and cut everything informational. Then we kept rebuilding the negative keyword lists to strip out the searches that never book: how-to videos, spare parts, warranty numbers, manuals. That discipline is what held the click-through rate at 5%, which in a category this competitive is the number that tells you the ad matched what the person actually typed.
The second lever was the page the click landed on. We designed highly optimized landing pages with clear calls-to-action and A/B tested the headlines against each other, so the same traffic turned into more booked jobs without raising a single bid.
The third lever was geography. Atlanta and the suburbs around it do not behave like one market, so we concentrated spend where the premium jobs are and adjusted bidding to local competition and search trends.
What that adds up to: roughly $52,575 in ad spend since January 2024, 74,794 impressions and 3,730 clicks at a 5% click-through rate, 634 booked jobs and 570 completed ones at a $605 average ticket, and about $345,000 in revenue. A 6.6x return on ad spend, with a steady flow of service inquiries rather than a spike and a drought.
One honest caveat, and it matters more than the account: at a $605 average ticket you can afford an expensive click - what you cannot afford is a missed call. Google Ads buys the phone call. The follow-up is what turns it into an invoice.
